Pevensey Signalbox is on the end of the platform at the
London end of Pevensey station, at one time called Pevensey and Westham. It
stands guard over a siding and two level crossings, that beside the box
and the one at Pevensey Bay.

| This photograph shows the country end of the station. As well
as the crossover there is the siding here, quite neatly hidden behind the signs
telling you not to walk and where to get an electric shock!

| The few levers that are left in the box are mainly for the safe operation of the crossover and siding. Lever 1 on the left operates Pevensey Bay's Up Home and Distant signals, levers 2 and 3 operate Pevensey's Up Home and Starting signals, lever four controls the exit from the siding, lever 6 operates the siding points, lever 8 operates the crossover and on the far right, lever 11 is for the Down Home and Distant. | ||

| Closer view of Pevensey box's diagram. The adjacent
boxes are Hampden Park in the Up direction and Bexhill Central in the
Down. The intermediate stations in the Down direction are Pevensey Bay,
Norman's Bay, Cooden Beach and Collington, none of which has a Signalbox
though there is a crossing box at Normans Bay.

The level crossing at the next station down the line, Pevensey
Bay, that is controlled from Pevensey Signalbox. The CCTV cameras on their high
poles allow the Signalman to see what is happening there.
