Grove Junction Signalbox controlled the junction of the SER line
from Tunbridge Wells to Hastings with the LB&SCR line to their Tunbridge
Wells West station. The junction was immediately outside the southern end of
the tunnel on the south side of Tunbridge Wells station. This (and the next)
photograph was taken in April 1985.

| A more distant view showing the box nestling in the vee
of the junction. This was a fairly recent box, being constructed in by the
Southern Railway and opening on 4 September 1938 to replace the previous SER
box that had been burnt out on 23 August. No doubt the humble location
meant they didn't feel the need to erect one of their more grand designs,
such as at Horsham! Note that the LB&SCR line singled just beyond the site
of the Signalbox. The box was abolished on 19 April 1986, just 15 days
after the commencement of the electric services on the Hastings line.
