Corfe Castle

Inside Corfe Castle signalbox Corfe Castle The original signalbox at Corfe Castle was a 2-storey wooden box on the Down platform.  This was closed in 1956 and replaced by a lever-frame in an extended Porter's Room at the end of the station building on the Up platform.  After the line closed in 1972 somehow the frame escaped the scrapmen and remained in situ, and is now being restored.  The box is scheduled to be (re)commisioned in Feb 2005.
