That Clapham Junction is the busiest station in Britain is a well known fact. As well as passenger traffic, however, Clapham also handled a lot of goods and ECS workings in its extensive yard.
A new platform/bay being constructed for use by Overground trains that came into use December 2012 when the new service from the East London line to Clapham Junction via the South London line started. There is a reinstated section of line (closed circa WW1) from the ELL to the SLL that is already in place with the service going from Factory Junction via one of the Latchmere Junctions and Ludgate Junction to the new platform. The train visible in what we think is now platform 1 is an Overground train to Kensington Olympia, Willesden and Stratford. The EMU is a London Overground Class 378 CapitalstarNº 378 225.
